St Patrick’s Catholic College, Thornaby GCSE Results – August 2022

25th August 2022Dan Jackson

St Patrick’s Catholic College in Thornaby’s ‘incredible’ GCSE results affirmed Ofsted’s recent ‘Good’ judgement with more and more pupils achieving top grades.

St Patrick's Catholic College head of school Deborah Law

St Patrick’s Catholic College Headteacher, Deborah Law

“Our 2022 cohort has achieved incredible results and we are extremely proud of all their individual progress and achievements,” said St Patrick’s Catholic College headteacher, Deborah Law.

“Although the pandemic caused significant disruption for this group of Year 11, they have overcome it with sheer hard work and resilience. This is reflected in their final results.

“A significant proportion of our pupils have been awarded the highest grades 8 and 9 across the board and we want to congratulate them on such outstanding outcomes.

“Pupils have also achieved an 86% pass rate in 4+ English and 71% pass rate in 4+ Maths which affords them an array of choices and opportunities post-16.

“With such fantastic results, our pupils have bright and successful futures ahead of them. We could not have asked for more commitment and focus from this year group.

“The class of 2022 are an amazing group of young people who will forever be part of the St Patrick’s family. We know they will go out there and change the world!”

If any Year 11 pupils are interested in continuing their post-16 education within the Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust family, there are limited places available for September at Trinity Sixth Form. Students can email [email protected] and someone will contact them to discuss their options.

This attitude has enabled him to achieve above his targets in all subjects including a grade 6 in History and a Distinction in Engineering. Freddie said:  “I feel overwhelmed with the grades I have achieved and they will open more potential career paths to me including in the field of Law. Thanks to all the staff who have supported and guided me through the journey.”

International School Trip

14th March 2022Liam Illingworth

International school trips offer pupils experiences that are hard to replicate in the classroom. The experience pupils can get beyond what they would experience within the UK, the benefits beyond teaching in the classroom, to be able to see some of those things that they learn about in real-time in the real world.

Now that covid restrictions have been lifted, we would like to gain an interest into what would be the preferred international school trip for the school to offer.

We are hopeful that this trip could take place as early as next year, as this has been in our planning for the last 2 years. There are no costings as of yet, we just want to take an interest.
Please complete the form by Friday 18th March.
