Coats and Hoodies
Coats must be removed upon entering the school building. Hoodies are not to be worn, and if worn on the way to school, must be removed before entering school grounds.
Jewellery/Make-up/Nails
On the grounds of health and safety, we do not allow jewellery to be worn in school by pupils.
Makeup should be discreet. You will be asked to remove makeup if it is deemed not discreet. Eyebrows and eyelashes should be natural with no patterns, shavings or enhancements.
Nail polish, false, acrylic or gel nails are not allowed.
Hair and headwear
We will embrace and respect that some religions may require pupils to maintain certain hairstyles. We will react reasonably and sensitively to this, however,
Only hairstyles deemed socially acceptable are permitted. Hairstyles must be simple, and any hair colouring must look natural
The College does not permit hairstyles that reflect the extremes of fashion – unnatural or extravagant colours, extensions, beads, or designs cut into the hair are not permitted. No hair should be shorter than a No. 2 cut.
Long hair, being tied up, must use plain black or grey bobbles.
Mobile phones
Mobile phones, smartwatches, headphones, and other electronic devices are not permitted in school. St Patrick’s Catholic College follow government guidelines: The DfE expects schools to have a policy that prohibits mobile phone use throughout the school day, and schools may use sanctions such as confiscation or detention when pupils breach the policy. Gov.uk
If pupils are seen with any of the above items, they will be confiscated, and a parent will be asked to collect them. Any medical items will, of course, be agreed.
Planners and Bags
Pupils are expected to bring a suitable bag to school each day in order to carry their essential equipment, including their school planner.
