Dear Parent/Carer
Introduction to Google Classroom
As your child continues to work from home, we have decided as a school to change our online learning platform from ClassCharts to Google Classroom. This step is essential for us to continue to monitor the students work and to engage with the pupils and parents more effectively. It is very similar to ClassCharts but offers more functions to enhance their education (lockdown and beyond). Those children who receive work packs will continue to receive them.
Many of you might be familiar with Google Classroom, if not; I have provided you with a step-by-step guide below for your child to access the learning materials. We have updated our website with pupil frequently asked questions that will help them when accessing Google Classroom. We will also continue to upload on our social media platforms links and advice on the use of Google Classroom.
Logging in
Your child will need to go https://stpatricks.npcat.org.uk/google-classroom-for-students/ and login using their school account. To login in correctly follow this guide below;
- Year of enrolment
- first initial
- .
- surname
An example would be John Astra in year 8 their username would be 18j.astra

Your child’s classes will be available from 1st June.
The App
As a parent, you can monitor the work being set and produced by your child by downloading the Google Classroom app.
