In order to ensure our students get the best careers information, advice and guidance during their time with us at St Patrick’s we have utilised the services offered by Youth Direction.  Youth Direction has a dedicated team of Careers Advisers who provide all students within our school with impartial and independent careers information, advice and guidance.  As an organisation, Youth Direction have been externally accredited to the MATRIX STANDARD which is the nationally recognised quality benchmark for information, advice and guidance services.

The advice and guidance each student receives is tailored to their own needs and also gives them information on all the available options that are open to them.  This includes all aspects of education, employment and training provision such as; alternative providers, work-based training and apprenticeships.

All students in Years 10 and 11 receive one to one careers advice from Tina Holley who is one of Youth Directions level 6 trained careers advisers.  As a result of these meetings, students are given a personalised action plan to help guide them in choosing the right career path for themselves.
