🌅🐘🦁🦒KENYA UPDATES🦒🐊🦓🌅
Our young people have completed conservation work counting animals and visited the discovery centre, saw lots of animals including giraffes, elephants, monkeys, birds and gazelles. On the afternoon, the pupils had game drive where they saw lions - including two cubs! They then watched the sunset, they have been to the National Park where lots more animals were seen, including hippos, baboons and zebras!
However… their bus got stuck but through team work and some help from some other people on safari, they managed to get through - phewww!
However a big highlight for them was their picnic invade by baboons and elephants😅

🐾 Making a Difference at Maxi’s Mates! 🐾
Today, a group of our Year 8 pupils visited Maxi’s Mates in Carlin How to deliver hampers to the dogs at the rescue and rehoming centre.
Over the last seven weeks, the pupils have worked alongside Youth Focus North East to plan and deliver their social action project. As part of the programme, they presented their ideas to a funding panel and successfully secured £250 to support their project.
The group chose to use the funding to purchase treats, toys and accessories for the dogs currently being cared for at Maxi’s Mates. With 47 dogs currently looking for their forever homes, we hope our donation brings a little extra comfort and happiness to them while they wait to be adopted. ❤️🐶
During the visit, the pupils also enjoyed walking Mally around the local fields before taking part in an insightful Q&A session with a member of the Maxi’s Mates team, learning more about the incredible work involved in rescuing and rehoming dogs.
The project will conclude with the pupils completing an evaluation, reflecting on the impact of their work and assessing the success of their social action project.
A huge well done to everyone involved for showing such compassion, teamwork and community spirit. We are incredibly proud of you!
